North Coast District – Keeping Ministry Above the Fray!

Rev. H. Daniel Drew, District Superintendent            Rev. Dr. V. Yvonne Conner, District Associate

… “And one standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer; three is even better, for a triple braided cord is not easily broke.” – Ecclesiastes. 4:12

The Message of Christian Stewardship Reaches New Audience Online

By Tamie Ross

(UMCom) -- Ask 10 people what’s most important when it comes to stewardship, and nine will say it’s giving of one’s means. Not James Varner.

Varner, vice president of stewardship services for the Texas Methodist Foundation, says communication is key. If a church’s needs are not expressed and understood by members, then the opportunity to serve is lost, he says. Yet the constraints of Sunday morning worship often mean much is unsaid when it comes to highlighting opportunities to serve. (End quote)

The North Coast District (NCD) of the United Methodist Church is blessed to provide the following online resources for formation of faith-based teams called to assist with those elements of stewardship – praying, studying, giving and receiving – which are so easily encased in silence and manifested in hunger, teen violence and disruption of family unity. Please take time to review the following resources and contact Rev. Dr. V. Yvonne Conner, your NCD Associate, at daconner@ncdistrictumc.org  with a District-wide project idea that you would like to have considered for long-term support through resources beyond those realized through current NCD/UMC resources.

The North Coast District has a small Stewardship Library with some of the books mentioned in this link - To borrow these books call Debbie at 216-441-4527 (North Coast District Office)
