Conference-Funded Mission Projects

A list of the current mission projects within the District that are sponsored by the East Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church.  Information for volunteer help and contributions is detailed for several of the projects.

In addition, there are several additional programs that are funded by District Benevolence Apportionments paid by our 69 congregations.

The Nehemiah Mission of Cleveland

Welcomes missionaries from all places to come and stay for a day, a weekend, or a week.  Come to the city of Cleveland, meet her people, learn of her struggles, celebrate her triumphs and help her needy.
There are many opportunities to help!

Lay Speaking Ministry

Local Lay Speakers serve in and through their local churches. To be recognized as local church lay speakers, they must be recommended by their pastor and Church Council or Charge Conference, and complete the basic course for lay speaking. Each year they must reapply, reporting how they have served and continued to learn during that year.

Stewardship

Our mission is to encourage the joy of generous giving in congregations and individuals.

Child Care Centers

A list of  Child Care Centers associated with United Methodist Churches in the North Coast District.

Hot Meal Programs & Food Pantries

A list of  local UMCs that provide community meals for those in need at various times during the month throughout the District.  Also listed are  churches conducting "Food Pantry" programs that collect non-perishable food items in conjunction with area organizations.

Sports Ministry

Check out our list of some Sports Ministry Programs that would be great to start at your church or perhaps you can just get together with family and friends.

Young Adult and Singles Ministries

A list of programs at local UMCs directed toward young adults and singles for the purposes of fellowship and spiritual growth.  Bible studies combine with social activities to provide a dynamic mix of events.

Grief Support Groups

A list of groups and resources available locally to provide care, support, and counseling for those bereaved by the loss of a loved one.

United Methodist Women is a one-million member organization whose purpose is to foster spiritual growth, develop leaders and advocate for justice.

The mission of the General Commission on United Methodist Men is to assist men to know Jesus Christ, to serve Him, to grow spiritually and seek daily to do his will.
