Orchard Path UMC, new church start,
plans two events for Christmas
The Orchard Path UMC is East Ohio
Conference’s newest church start. As they reach out to the community in the
Broadview Heights area they have planned two events for Christmas to which all
are invited. The first event will be a Christmas Outreach on Thursday,
December 18 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Weeping Cherry Apartments (located off
Rt. 82, just west of Rt. 176). They would love to have a few more people help
with hands-on activities for about 40-50 children who live there.
Join us for "Christmas by
Candlelight" sponsored by Orchard Path Church - Friday, Dec. 19 from 6 - 8 p.m.
Wellpointe Plaza, Broadview Hts., NE Corner of Rt. 82 and Rt. 176. Look for us
in the storefront between "The Kiln" and "Pawsitively Pure"
This is a Community Christmas Celebration on Friday, December 19, from
6:00-8:00 p.m. at Wellpointe Pavilion (located at the NE corner of the
intersection of Rt. 82 and Rt. 176). They need people to help bake dozens of
cookies ahead of time. They will also need helpers that evening to come between
5:00-6:00 p.m. to setup refreshment tables, children's activities, and
luminaries around the plaza. Others are needed to help run the children's
activity and to tear down when the event is over. If you are able to help please

Church Features Interior Lighting-Music Display
For the third year, Pleasant Hills Church in Middleburg Heights will
be incorporating computer controlled Christmas lights and music into
their worship experience.
Under the direction of member Tom Srail, the church has combined 48
digitally controlled channels with over 25,000 lights, multiple
Christmas Trees and special effects with recorded Christmas music to
be performed throughout the Advent and Christmas season beginning November 30.
The special music and lights presentations have been named
“ChurchLights 2008” and will be incorporated into Sunday morning
worship services and the Christmas Eve services. The presentation
features music of Trans Siberian Orchestra and Manheim Steamroller
as well as traditional settings of familiar carols and Christmas
songs.
“The technology is sophisticated and 21st century, but the
presentations remind us of the ancient traditions and rituals that
tie us continually to the richness of faith. It is a unique blending
of the old and the new. We are pleased to open our doors and invite
all to enjoy this new experience.” Said Pastor Sarah Cerreto.
Pleasant Hills will also open its doors for “public performances” on
Dec. 13, and 20th

“Recognizing that for some people, Christmas is not the most wonderful time of
the year, a longest night service will be held Sunday, December 21st, at 7:00pm.
Christmas is not always a time of rejoicing when your household has suffered a
loss or when you body is ravaged with illness or when depression is too much to
bear, or when you feel alone in a crowd. Christmas can be a bittersweet time of
the year. This service is a time for remembering both persons and events that
have been a part of our lives ion the past, but then are now changed and gone.
On the longest night of the year, we will worship in a quiet meditative service
that makes time for remembering, sharing our hurting places with God and
preparing our hearts for the coming of Christ. We invite you to join us for
worship and to offer this worship service to others outside the church who might
find this service to be meaningful.”
