North Coast District United Methodist Church District Events
The cost is $15 per person. We ask that you make reservations by calling our church office (440-322-6622) no later than September 8. The bus will load in Elyria: First UMC parking lot behind the church. It can be accessed from Holly Lane, which runs between West Ave. and Middle Ave., just south of and parallel to 3rd Street. (The YWCA is on the corner of Holly Lane and West Ave.). We will depart at 8:30 a.m. We should arrive back at Elyria: First UMC around 5:00 p.m. We would love to have a bus-full of United Methodists and fellow travelers heading to the Richland County fairgrounds together bright and early on the 16! Please invite your folks to join us.

How would you like to be the next winner of the East Ohio Conference Chili Cook-off? This is very simple. Just bring a crockpot full of your favorite “chili and the recipe” to the Festival of Caring on Saturday, September 16, 2006 at the Richland County Fairgrounds in Mansfield, Ohio between 9:00-9:30 a.m. The judging will begin following the Worship Service. There will be two categories for judging: (1) “Judges Award” and (2) “People’s Choice Award.” An entry form is available in the 2006 Festival of Caring Booklet or by contacting Diane Rogers at the Conference Office. This is a fun event and a good way to sample the cooking from those in the East Ohio Conference. Yes we are in the new millennium…with countless children and youth still in need of the "Bare necessities" food, housing and clothing. The Seat Cover Drive for 2006 sponsored by The East Ohio Conference United Methodist Churches & The Festival of Caring Committee request your assistance in meeting the needs of so many children in a special way… This is a very, very successful campaign to prove clean new underwear for infants, youth and children and it is still needed…Thank you for caring and sharing through the years…because we all care so very much , as though these were our own children…This campaign will be successful in 2006, too*,with your help.. The need is still here and your donation is greatly needed once, again. Each district is being asked to bring seat covers for boys and girls as specified below. Your District's donations will be brought to the Richland County Fairgrounds for the Festival of Caring on Sept. 16, 2006. This year’s donation will once again benefit the children in the health and welfare agencies servicing children and families in the East Ohio Conference. In addition, generous donations will also, benefit Church World Services’ tremendous effort to make a difference in the lives of others in places distant and near to here. Church World Services also provides mission support to families and children outside of Ohio...i.e. earthquake victims in Iran, flood victims and so many who welcome the support….

Elyria
First United Methodist Church has made arrangements with the Elyria United
Methodist Village to use its bus to carry folks to the Festival of Caring on
Saturday, September 16. We'd like to invite everyone to share it with us.
