Basketball tournament for Nothing But Nets All are welcome… if you can dribble, you can play, and you can help us raise money for Nothing But Nets! Our youth have decided to donate the proceeds of our spring festival to Nothing But Nets. On Saturday, May 10, 2008 we will sponsor a three on three triple elimination basketball tournament in our gym beginning at noon with prizes from the Cavs. We require a minimum donation of $15 per team. You can register by sending a check payable to Pearl Road UMC Youth to Pearl Road UMC, 4200 Pearl Rd., Cleveland, OH 44109, or calling Pastor Paul at 216-661-5642. Please join in the fun and help the United Methodist Church and the NBA save lives in Africa.

Ashland University Choir Visits East Shore
Church! Jonathan Calabrese and East Shore Church - United Methodist have the privilege of hosting Ashland University Choir on Monday, May 12, 2008. There will be a potluck dinner at 6:00 p.m. and a concert will follow at 7:30 p.m. Jonathan is a member of East Shore Church and a student in the Ashland University Choir. The Ashland University Choir is preparing to travel and perform in Europe in May of 2009. All are Welcome. Come enjoy food, fellowship and an awesome choir! A free will offering will be taken.

Revitalizing
Your Church through Worship Seminar: Learn to design worship to reach your unique mission field, teach worshippers about outreach, build an enduring climate to enhance worship changes, grow worship teams that multiply, encourage a culture of radical hospitality in worship, and coach worshippers toward a personal sense of mission. Service May 18, 2008 will be Lay Speaker Consecration Sunday! At 3:00 p.m. at Broadway United Methodist Church. All Lay Speakers who have completed the Youth and Adult Basic or the Advanced Course will be consecrated.This will be a special day of celebration for yourselves, your pastor, your family, your church family, and your friends. Plan on attending. Bring a pulpit or choir robe to wear and be recognized by the district for your willingness to serve God as a Lay Speaker!

SUMMERFEST 2008 Fun. food and games on a summer evening, SummerFest 2008 is a safe place for the whole family to have a great time, meet new neighbors and see old friends. The date is Saturday, June 28 from 5:00-11:00 p.m. at Church of the Saviour in Cleveland Heights. SummerFest features live bands; a 52-foot long inflatable obstacle course; kids’ FunZone with games, prizes, face painting, puppet theater and clowns; a team pie-eating contest; cotton candy and snow cones; hamburger, hot dogs and sodas; some special visitors; and tours. The event concludes with a free, indoor, family-friendly movie beginning at 9:00 p.m. on two big screens. Admission is free and the event is open to the community. Game tickets are $.25 each and food is for sale. Bring a blanket or lawn chair for the indoor movie. In case of rain, SummerFest will take place on Sunday, June 29. All proceeds from SummerFest support our youth mission trips and service projects in our local neighborhoods and around the nation.
