Basketball tournament for Nothing But Nets

All are welcome… if you can dribble, you can play, and you can help us raise money for Nothing But Nets!

Our youth have decided to donate the proceeds of our spring festival to Nothing But Nets.  On Saturday, May 10, 2008 we will sponsor a three on three triple elimination basketball tournament in our gym beginning at noon with prizes from the Cavs.

We require a minimum donation of $15 per team.  You can register by sending a check payable to Pearl Road UMC Youth to Pearl Road UMC, 4200 Pearl Rd., Cleveland, OH 44109, or calling Pastor Paul at 216-661-5642.

Washington started REAL Coaching in 2004 as the first “rapid solutions” consulting practice that focuses on faith-based and non-profit organizations. Washington worked for The WildWorks Group as a lead facilitator.   Ashland University Choir Visits East Shore Church!

Jonathan Calabrese and East Shore Church - United Methodist have the privilege of hosting Ashland University Choir on Monday, May 12, 2008. There will be a potluck dinner at 6:00 p.m. and a concert will follow at 7:30 p.m. Jonathan is a member of East Shore Church and a student in the Ashland University Choir. The Ashland University Choir is preparing to travel and perform in Europe in May of 2009.

  Arts in the Cathedral is pleased to host the Chamber Singers from Pennsylvania’s Bloomsburg University

Free concert on Wednesday, May 14 at 7:00 p.m. at Church of the Saviour in Cleveland Heights. The program will feature English madrigals as well as selections from Brahms’ Liebeslieder Waltzes and Schubert’s Mass in G.

The Chamber Singers is a select vocal group of 18 members performing a wide variety of music from classical repertoire to selections from musicals. They have toured London, Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris and Japan. While in Cleveland they will sing for the Indians’ game on May 13.

Conductor Dr. Wendy Miller is a native of Cleveland who received her Bachelor's degree from Bluffton College and earned her Masters and Doctorate from Indiana University in Bloomington. An active soloist in eastern Pennsylvania she is also recognized as a music historian who has researched and presented vocal recitals of authentic Colonial and Civil War Music.

The church is handicapped-accessible and has plenty of free parking.

  Revitalizing Your Church through Worship Seminar:

The Cory Golf Scholarship Committee is pleased to invite all golf enthusiasts to participate in our tenth Annual Diversity Golf Scholarship Outing, to be held on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at the Historic Clearview Golf Club in East Canton, Ohio. The fund-raising event, supported by you with donations, raises money for Cory's student scholarships. The event includes 18 holes of golf, use of a golf cart, seven contests and prizes plus 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies. For sponsor opportunities, consider the OPTIONS on the Registration Form.
The cost to play is $85.00. This includes; coffee and donuts at 8a.m. with a 9a.m. start time, Hot dogs available "at the turn," and a dinner which concludes the event with presentation of awards.
You do not need a foursome to play. All skill levels of golfers are welcome. Please make a contribution if you cannot attend. Payment is required with your reservation by July 14, 2008.

  SUMMERFEST 2008

 Fun. food and games on a summer evening, SummerFest 2008 is a safe place for the whole family to have a great time, meet new neighbors and see old friends.

The date is Saturday, June 28 from 5:00-11:00 p.m. at Church of the Saviour in Cleveland Heights. SummerFest features live bands; a 52-foot long inflatable obstacle course; kids’ FunZone with games, prizes, face painting, puppet theater and clowns; a team pie-eating contest; cotton candy and snow cones; hamburger, hot dogs and sodas; some special visitors; and tours. The event concludes with a free, indoor, family-friendly movie beginning at 9:00 p.m. on two big screens.

Admission is free and the event is open to the community. Game tickets are $.25 each and food is for sale. Bring a blanket or lawn chair for the indoor movie. In case of rain, SummerFest will take place on Sunday, June 29.

All proceeds from SummerFest support our youth mission trips and service projects in our local neighborhoods and around the nation.
