North Coast Dist./Aldersgate UMC
AMEN! ALL MUST ENCOURAGE NON-VIOLENCE/ALDERSGATE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PROG.
A Threefold Cord endeavor or reach out to families involved in devasting cycle of domestic violence by providing a range of services that includes public awareness, information and referral, advocates to accompany victims to their court appearances, safety and support groups.
055 Asbury Drug Elimination Program
ASBURY DRUG ELIMINATION PROGRAM
This program began as a drug elimination program and has grown to address the developmental needs of the youth as a way of preventing drug use/abuse. The Teen Youth Council provides opportunities for up to 25 12-16 year olds to develop their leadership skills, cultivate their own vision for future career and educational options, and to be part of teen-initiated service projects.

ASBURY FOOD PANTRY/CLOTHING DEPOT
The food Pantry/Clothing Depot was established in order to assist persons in the community with basic needs of food and clothing. The ministry is coordinated with other local social service agencies to ensure food and other basic essentials are available throughout the community.
057 Asbury " Save Our Children"
ASBURY "SAVE OUR CHILDREN" AFTER SCHOOL & TUTORIAL PROG.
Provides academic, social & spiritual enrichment to low-income urban children and youth entering kindergarten through sixth grades. The average enrollment has been 65. Funds will be used toward operating expenses associated with the program.

People of all ages and background and interests come together to learn. Infant care for teen parents/preschool experience/K-3 education program chartered by the Ohio Dept. of Education

CORY BUSINESS/BUILDING MANAGER
  
Cory UMC continues to be one of the largest and busiest facilities in the conference. Business/Building Manager will work directly with custodial staff supervision, assistance to the Finance Committee, monitoring/purchasing of supplies and supervision of special projects.

CORY HUNGER CENTER
   
Cory has been meeting the needs of families in the Glenville community providing them with food. The Hunger Center is always prepared to help anyone who comes identifying a need. The Center also provides for church members and community volunteer and employment training.

CORY PARISH NURSE PROGRAM
   
A health ministry designed to meet the emotional and spiritual needs of our members and persons in the community, also suppport/services persons who us the Hunger Center, Soup Kitchen, Head Start, Cory Senior Program, and individuals in the community.

CORY SENIOR CITIZENS PROGRAM
     
Serves seniors in the Glenville community and Cory UMC since 1983. Activities include exercise, computer classes, nutrition, health, arts/crafts and recreation. The programs help to reduce social isolation.

The Cory, E. Glenville, St. Matthew Cooperative Parish began over a decade ago in an effort to strengthen the administration & ministry needs of 4 urban congregations.  The congregations have engaged in joint Christian Education. Youth Ministries and Outreach efforts.

EMERGING MINISTRIES
OF THE NORTH COAST DISTRICT
The greater Cleveland area has been deemed to be the poorest city in the country for the second time in 3 years. The needs of the communities in which all our our churches serve continue to grow and change. Therefore mission ideas and responsibilities might not be able to wait for funding cycle to begin operation. Emerging Ministry Funds aid local churches in striving to meet the important needs of their neighborhoods in a timely fashion.

ENGLISH SPEAKING KOREAN AMERICAN CONGREGATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
To support English speaking lay person financially so our English speaking youth and congregation will worship together.
066 New Life Community     
FAITH (FAMILY APARTMENT INITIATIVE FOR TRANSITIONAL HOUSING)     
New Life Community is a faith-based, interdenominational, non-profit organization whose mission is to empower persons in homeless, jobless families to make the transition from homelessness and joblessness to independence and self-sufficiency.

FATHERS OF TODAY AND TOMORROW

To positively impact fathers in the Lee-Miles community and its surrounding areas. The program will serve men and boys throughout the area who are not necessarily members of St. Paul.
068 The Master's UMC
FRED'S CLUB TUTORING PROGRAM, INC.  
Is an after school and evening service for elementary children in grades one through six providing them help with their homework in a safe, caring environment. The program serves close to 100 children each year.

Garfield Memorial UMC
GARFIELD MEMORIAL IN THE CITY - THE RIVER COFFEEHOUSE WORSHIP

This ministry is the extension of Garfield Memorial (suburban church) into an eastside urban neighborhood. Garfield Memorial proposes to extend a mid-week, afterschool, meal and worship experience to children/youth and their families in the Union/Miles neighborhood of Cleveland.

HOLY BOLDNESS INITIATIVES
   
Funds will be used to further the health and welfare of children and adults living in at-risk situations, who need holy and bold advocacy for social programming and spiritual needs.

H.O.P.E. HELP OVERWHELMED PEOPLE EMPOWER
   
To work with residents in the community who are overwhelmed by life circumstances, to empower them to be lifted to a higher plane.
072 The New Beginning     
HOUSING FOR MEN IN RECOVERY
     
The New Beginning is a non-profit agency.  It offers housing to men in recovery from all chemicals. It also offers long term housing. The on-site listed formal Alcoholic, Cocaine, Narcotic Anonymous and Relapse meetings are a great asset to the New Beginning recovery.

IHS FILLING STATION (COMMUNITY MEAL PROGRAM)
Our  IHS program nurtures the needy in our community with a weekly hot meal program which feeds them physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually as well. Usual attendance is 70-90.
074 Broadway UMC
LINKING THE "E's" (IN EVANGELISTIC OUTREACH)

Broadway currently provides four mini-stand-alone outreach ministries - Community Dinners, Emergency Food Baskets, Bonus Buddies and its two newest outreach ventures - Wednesday Youth/Teen Family night and Broadway 55th AA Group. This proposal is to be intentional bout linking these ministries around the strength of "families eating, praying and spending quality time" together.
075 Ecumenical Senior Ministries of Collinwood   
MINISTRY TO SENIOR CITIZENS, POOR, DISABLED
   
ESMC is a non-profit organization.  Ours is an ecumenical Christian ministry serving elderly, low income and disabled Collinwood people of all genders, faiths, and races.  Our services are free of charge to everyone.

MUSIC GRANT
     
The purpose is to assist the pastor in ministering to the congregation, especially during times of worship and to enhance the entire worship experience. To sing songs and spiritual songs that the word of God may be both heard, and experienced in each worshipping person in such a way that they respond to the call of Christ.

NEAR WEST SIDE PARTNERSHIP MINISTRY PARISH NURSE PROGRAM        
The Parish Nurse Program is a specialized ministry of Fairview Hospital where registered nurses are placed in congregations to provide health education, referrals to community agencies and health screenings to members of the congregation and surrounding community.

NEAR WEST SIDE PARTNERSHIP YOUTH
   
Provide a safe place in an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect, where creativity is encouraged, spiritual and social growth needs are met and youth are inspired to take a responsible role in a church and their communities.

NEIGHBORHOOD DISCIPLESHIP
   
In the cities of Cleveland and Elyria and surrounding areas, many of the neighborhoods are in rapid transition and in great need. These funds help churches receive funds to change existing programs or add new ones that will reach their neighborhood populations.

NEIGHBORHOOD OUTREACH MUSIC PROGRAM
     
Grant funds make it possible to offer a variety of music ministries to young people in the communities surrounding two urban churches by paying a small stipend to help to ensure consistent, and dedicated leadership for our children who are often in situations where little else is consistent in their lives.

NC "SEND ME!" MISSION TRIP FUND
Is a fund started to promote missions throughout the district and publicity to formalize a district work mission team to be sent to other places, domestic and foreign to do mission work for the poor.

PARISH NURSE-RIDGEWOOD
     
Bridges the gap between science and religion by offering healthcare with a spiritual dimension in the context of the faith community. It enhances the physical and spiritual health of the local community and parishioners by providing educational programs, health screenings, patient advocacy, health counseling, home visits, hospital visits, and nursing home visits.

As a cooperative effort of the UMC of Brook Park with Fairview Hospital (Cleveland Clinic Health System), the Parish Nurse Program places within this local congregation an experienced health professional.

LIVING-LEARNING CENTER-LIFE SKILL LEARNING PLACE

Created to teach neighborhood adults and youth basic skills to enhance their life and their opportunities to acquire employment. The center has classes in computer skills, cooking, knitting, Bible Study etc.
085 Race Track Chaplaincy of America
RACE TRACK CHAPLAINCY-CLEVELAND DIV ("HOME MISSION")
Our ministry is serving the spiritual, mental and emotional, physical and recreational issues and problems of the people who have and work on the backside of the track. We have local and migrant workers from different countries. Our people lack education, quality care (health) and economic skills for advancement.

'REVITALIZING CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP AT GARFIELD HEIGHTS UMC"
The purpose of this project is to revitalize the Contemporary Worship at Garfield Heights UM by improving the quality of the worship experience.

ST. MATTHEW UMC MUSIC MINISTRY
The Music Ministry enhances the worship experience of St. Matthew UMC and utilizes the medium of music to articulate an Africhristic faith.
088 Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greater Cleveland  
SCHOOL TRANSPORTATION PROJECT FOR HOMELESS CHILDREN

Addressing the devasting effects of homelessness upon academic success, IHN will transport each school-age guest to and from the school they were in when they became homeless. The School Transportation Project will minimize disruption in the education of homeless children, maintain the social supports they have within their school and provide them with continuity and stability in their "school Life" while their "home life" is unsettled.

SIMPSON CHURCH AND COMMUNITY WORKER
   
The primary purpose of the church is to reach out to the surrounding community in a spirit of love and justice, in a manner of peace and hopefulness, to allow persons to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. It helps to identify the needs and concerns of the church and community, and maintains on-going relationships with members of the church and community.

SIMPSON FOOD PANTRY 

The Simpson UMC operates a Food Pantry to residents within the 44102 zip code on the Near West Side of Cleveland. The purpose of the program is to provide our neighbors with a three-day supply of emergency food based on their income and family size.
091 East Shore UMC
SOUP'S ON!
Offers a weekly hot meal to hungry residents of Euclid. It began in March 2006 as a twice-a-month program. In Jan. 2007 the ministry expanded to weekly, thanks to benevolent funding from the East Ohio Conference.

SPORTS, COMPUTER, TUTORING & HOMEWORK ASSISTANCE MINISTRIES
     
These ministries are designed to minister to youth in the surrounding communities in four different ways (sports, computer, tutoring, and homework) with the ultimate goal of making Disciples for Jesus Christ.

THE MAPLE HTS/BEDFORD UMC COMBINED YOUTH MINISTRY
To provide young members and friends of the respective churches opportunities for ministry with the congregations and to the contiguous communities, opportunities to lead and participate in worship, participation in Conference activities etc.

THE NEAR WEST SIDE PARTNERSHIP OFFICE

Provides administrative and secretarial support to First Hispanic, Oehlhoff, Peoples Hope, Simpson & Trinity UMCs.  All are inner-city churches that would otherwise be without secretarial and support staff.

UMC AWARENESS MEDIA CAMPAIGN
To advertise in local newspapers in EVERY community within our district in order to increase public awareness of The United Methodist churches in our district/area.
096 West Side Ecumenical Ministry     
WSEM COMMUNITY SUPPORT SERVICES
 
A non-profit social service agency founded in 1966 that provides services to more than 41,000 individuals annually at 40 program sites on both the east and west sides of Cleveland.
097 Werner UMC   
WERNER YOUTH/YOUNG ADULT COMMUNITY OUTREACH MINISTRY
   
Will assist in financing the Werner Youth/Young Adult Ministries (Youth/Young Adult Choir, youth instrumental music, mission projects, participating in liturgies and ministries of the church, district and conference youth activities, etc.)
098 Women's Center of Greater Cleveland
WOMEN'S CENTER'S CHILDCARE PROGRAM

Implementation of a tutoring program for the children attending the evening childcare program. While their mother is engaged in drug and alcohol treatment, the program provides the environment necessary for children to complete homework assignments, remedial reading, offers technical support with computers and instruction. More than 400 women and their families were engaged in treatment services in 2006.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT OUTREACH PROGRAM 

Since 1989 this program has helped to recruit, train and placed over 1800 qualified unemployed, underemployed and economically disadvantaged works in well-paying jobs with Cleveland area manufacturing companies.
100 Aldersgate UMC  
YOUTH COORDINATOR/EXPANDED YOUTH MINISTRY 
The youth coordinator will receive a stipend to implement and expand youth ministry for grades 7-12 and organize our youth and adult volunteers. This is an "Urban Youth Impact" initiative involving youth from Warrenville Hts. community and four different school systems. We discuss value and faith development as a Christian.

YOUTH OUTREACH PROGRAM
Weekly outreach program for children and youth ages 4-18. The purpose of these programs is to give youth a positive activity and learning experience between Sunday to Sunday and minister to the non-Christian in a loving and nurturing way.
