Service: Non-traditional service, Sunday, 9:30
a.m.-- most of the time held in our fellowship hall. We describe this
service as family-friendly, less formal than our Sanctuary service.
Families, including children, read the scripture and sometimes perform short
skits related to the scripture; one of our choirs that sings contemporary music
assists at worship frequently; children's and hand bell choirs also participate
regularly. The sermon is a regular feature.
**Sunday evening: Potluck, Praise and Prayer-- beginning with a
potluck at 5:30 p.m., the evening progresses with a praise service of sorts held
usually in the church parlor. Families are heavily involved. A book
of praise songs is used instead of a hymnal. Occasionally, instruments
other than a piano are used. A time for prayer concerns and praise is a
major feature of this service. There is no formal sermon.
